Dave, That is the key for WINDVD so it only effects that software. They would have to revoke the hardware key for the HD DVD add-on drive, which would either render all the drives useless, or require a firmware update to replace the key.
Considering how easy it was to find the key in the first place, replacing the key seems like a futile attempt.
